RICE & CARRY FISHING ROPE CLUTCH
This woven clutch bag/purse is crafted from recycled nylon fishing net cord which is collected from local fishermen, cleaned and woven by hand. Recycled plastic beads dangle from the zipper pull.
Rice & Carry is a social enterprise located on the East coast of Sri Lanka. They recycle rice bags and waste fabric to create bags and accessories, diverting these materials from landfills and extending their lifecycle. Each piece is handmade by female artisans from rural villages, who are trained to become skilled weavers and seamstresses and earn fair wages.
Each piece is handmade in Sri Lanka and one-of a kind.
